Wild West Charters offers a slow-paced, daily Swan River adventure tour that showcases the incredible natural beauty of the river and its stunning riverside real estate.
Our jet drive propulsion vessels, with their shallow draught capabilities, navigate the riverbanks and explore secluded coves and hidden moorings, revealing the river’s most beautiful angles.
During the tour, we share fascinating stories about Perth’s history, both Aboriginal and colonial, and help passengers spot local wildlife, including ospreys, black swans, and our resident pod of Swan River Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphins.
What you will see on the 90-minute Swan River Eco-tour?
Departing once daily at 1:00pm, this 90-minute full river tour is our “signature run” taking in the northern banks on the way downstream spending time in the affluent western suburbs to view the amazing wealth of the riverside Swan River real-estate, returning on the southern bank before venturing the east past the city before returning to disembark in Elizabeth Quay. Total distance of nearly 30 kilometres.
Wild West Charters showcases the incredible natural beauty of the Swan River and riverside suburbs in unique detail. Travelling the river banks using the shallow draught capabilities of our jet drive propulsion vessels to getting into all the secluded coves and behind mooring to view the amazing angles of our beautiful river.
Indo-pacific bottle-nosed dolphin encounters are more likely to happen on this full river tour. Being “jet drive” with no propellers also encourages our Swan River dolphins to travel along the bow or jumping the wakes. Eastern Ospreys are also a common sighting on this trip.
What you will see on the 45-minute Swan River Eco-tour?
Departing twice a day at 11:00am & 3:00pm, this 45-minute half river tour is suitable for families and anyone who seeks a quick trip out to view our beautiful river. Covering about 15kilometres, travelling along the contour line of Kings Park & Mounts Bay Road, all the way to Pelican Point past Perth Royal Yacht Club then heading back upstream, passing the Quay to visit Heirisson Island. For most of the time, it’s low tide and we can take you under the Causeway Bridge to see the Crown Hotel, Matagarup Bridge, Optus Stadium and WACA Cricket Ground.
Black Swans and Pelicans are commonly sighted on this quick trip. During the winter time, we often can find the residential Swan River dolphins around the Swan Estuary Marine Park.
Minimum numbers apply. Vessels can change for any tour. Departing hours are subjected to vary depending on weather and low/high season.
